An At Home Facial Treatment - Great for Winter Skin!
This at home facial routine will smooth and refresh your skin, and leave you glowing!
This DIY beauty treatment is a complete 4-step routine you can do in your kitchen, and it's great for smoothing and brightening dull, lifeless winter skin.
• 1 Tbsp fresh peppermint leaves or 2 drops of peppermint oil
- In a large bowl, add all ingredients to the boiling water and let steep 2 minutes. Drape a large towel over your head and the steaming bowl; remain under the towel to benefit from the steam for 5 minutes.
Step 2 - Exfoliate
• 1 tsp finely grated lime zest
• 1 Tbsp honey (add a drop of eucalyptus oil)
• 1 tsp ground macadamia nuts (grind finely in a blender)
• lemon myrtle leaves (reserved from steam bowl)
- Mix all ingredients in a small bowl. Gently massage onto your face, avoiding the eye area. Remove with a warm washcloth and rinse with a splash of cool water. Gently pat face dry.
Step 3 Facial Mask
• 2 Tbsp heavy cream
• 1 Tbsp honey with a drop of eucalyptus oil
• 2 tsp dried lavender flowers
• 2 tsp dried jasmine flowers
• 1 tsp grated orange zest
- Whip together the cream and honey, then add the remaining ingredients. Apply to face and let sit for 15 to 20 minutes. Remove with a warm washcloth and splash of cool water.
Step 4 Hydrate
- Following the facial mask, hydrate your skin with a few drops of macadamia nut oil (or other vegetable or nut oil, such as grapeseed or almond). Blot excess oil with a tissue.
