Facial Microdermabrasion

Facial microdermabrasion, unlike facial chemical peels, is a physical facial exfoliation process. Microdermabrasion involves removal of dead skin cells through mild abrasion and suction, leaving the skin smooth and refreshed.

Unlike laser peels, botox injections, or surgery, it is a non-invasive treatment for fine lines and wrinkles. The treatment takes little time, can be performed in a medical spa, and allows you to walk out of the office and return to your normal activities immediately.

Microdermabrasion affects only the top layer of skin and is best used for cleansing and reducing the appearance of pores, clearing mild acne, reviving dull skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines, and evening the skin tone and texture.

This method of facial exfoliation is performed with minute crystals, which are applied to the skin and rubbed gently to slough off the top layer of dead cells. The device used to apply the crystals also has a suction to remove most of the residue and the skin cells.

The result is a new layer of skin, smoother and silkier than before. There may be some redness at first, but it is very mild and will go away quickly.

Monthly treatments are recommended, although some improvement will be visible after the first session.

Microdermabrasion is one of the easiest, least invasive, least expensive, and yet effective treatments available to improve the appearance and texture of the skin.

This kind of procedure must be performed by a licenced technician, preferably in a medical spa, and is not appropriate for deep scars or wrinkles.
