This ginger body scrub with brown sugar is good enough to eat!
But don't eat it! Scrub it over your skin to smooth, exfoliate, and soften - the ginger and cinnamon scent is wonderful for winter, and the scrub sloughs off dull, dead winter skin. Use it throughout the winter to keep your skin glowing!
This diy beauty treatment requires only a few ingredients from your kitchen or grocery store. It's a snap to make, and makes a great gift.
Make a large batch, put it in pretty jars, and give as a gift for the holidays!
Ginger Sugar Scrub
• 1/2 cup almond oil (any vegetable oil without a strong scent will work - olive oil may be too strong)
• 1/2 cup brown sugar (you can use raw sugar or sea salt for a more vigorous scrub)
• 1/2 tsp ground ginger
• 1/2 tsp. cinnamon (optional)
- Combine all ingredients in a small bowl; mix thoroughly.
- Shower or bathe to dampen skin. Apply scrub and massage the skin. Rinse and pat skin dry.
Always follow up with a light lotion to seal in moisture and keep your skin feeling like satin.
The oil, sugar or salt, and ginger are the key ingredients of this scrub. You can make a summery citrus scrub by adding lemon oil instead of cinnamon. You can easily substitute raw sugar or sea salt for the brown sugar.
Play with fragrances until you get a combination you like. Change them as the seasons change, and you'll always have a pretty, nicely scented body scrub to invigorate your shower and smooth your skin!
