How to Make Body Oil with Flower Petals or Essence
Would you like to know how to make body oil? It couldn't be easier!
Fragrance body oils soften and scent skin after bathing. There's nothing better after a warm shower than to slather a scented oil over your sun-parched summer skin, or dry, rough winter skin.
And you can make your own scented body oils at home using oils from your kitchen and flowers from your garden. What a wonderful way to enjoy your garden all day long! You can also purchase fragrant essential oils to add scent to your body oil.
While a homemade scented oil makes a nice gift, too, bear in mind that these oils, because they are natural and have no preservatives, do not last long. Store them in a dark container to reduce deterioration.
Almond Body Oil with Flower Fragrance
For this recipe, you will need:
• One cup almond oil
• One cup fresh flower petals (rose and lilac are especially fragrant)
• a jar with a tight-sealing lid
Crush the flower petals to release their fragrant oils and place the petals in the jar. Add the almond oil, seal the jar and place it in a dark place to rest for several days.
Strain the oil to remove the petals, and you'll have a fragrant body oil to use after a shower or bath.
If you do not have a garden with fresh flowers available, you can make body oil using fragrant essential oils available at any health food store. A few drops in a cup of almond oil will scent the oil and you can use it immediately!
